The company?s technology acquires, mines, and cleanses unstructured content and structured data sources for the top-down construction of the semantic web. This includes such diverse areas as web crawling, feed processing, natural language extraction, data mining, and statistical classification. The team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with relevant systems experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
? Apply agile practices in collaboration with the team: Scrum, Test Driven Development.
? Design and develop large-scale, distributed content processing systems.
? Continuous iterative improvement of identified system metrics.
? Knowledge, experience, skills:
? 6+ years of development experience, including agile development practices.
? 4+ years of Java development and associated tool set experience.
? 2+ years RDBMS experience: data modeling, scaling and optimization. PostgreSQL experience a plus.
? Scripting language experience. Ruby a plus.
? Web crawling, feed processing, data mining, machine learning, or other relevant domain experience a plus.
? Hadoop, Lucene, and Amazon Web Services experience a plus.
? Solid working knowledge of Linux.
