Director of Engineering

The company is seeking dynamic and technically savvy Director of Engineering to manage our development team and drive our development process. By reporting to the CEO and joining at an early stage, you will play a critical role in the development of our 1.0 product and of the company as a whole.

Our goal is to find someone who wants to manage the team, but will still work with them on the product; someone who is a natural leader and ably coordinates the dynamic life of the engineering team, but also enjoys being hands-on. In addition to your technical management expertise, you will have a solid background in systems architecture and skills in Linux systems programming. Our product is built on Open Source technology and we value the know-how for finding novel Open Source tools to use in our development.

Requirements

? 4+ years leading engineering teams doing complex software development

? 10+ years of experience in software development

? Experience with distributed, scalable, high-performance products

? Systems architecture expertise

? Linux systems programming, and C and C++/OOP skills

? Experience scripting in Python or a similar scripting language

? BSCS/BSEE

Highly Desired

? Expertise in back-end software development for web applications

? Background in enterprise virtualization products

? Experience using Open Source technology
