Scientist I/II,Biochemistry (Protein Characterization)

We are looking for an exceptional protein scientist and biochemist with experience in characterization of enzymes and proteins at both the functional and structural level. The scientist will be involved at all levels of protein characterization (micro-to-gram scale) including enzyme purification , assay development , chemical analysis, and protein engineering. The proteins to be characterized and optimized will be for a variety of industrial applications, such as detergent products, biofuel production, and textiles and food applications..

You are degree qualified with the following:

* PhD and experience in Biochemistry and Protein Science/Chemistry, or a related discipline with at least 3 years of practical lab experience in an academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.

* Working knowledge of protein structure and function

* Must have experience in protein characterization including protein purification, quantification, mass spectrometry and enzymatic analyses. Experience in the use and application of biophysical methodologies would be ideal.

* Ability to purify and analyze both macromolecules and small molecules is highly desirable

* Highly motivated with strong problem solving skills and be capable of working independently or in a collaborative setting.

* Excellent communication skills and the desire to work with a multidisciplinary team.

* Strong analytical and organizational skills are highly desirable.
