Title: Quality and Control Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for the quality and controls of the production data warehouse. It will require close work with business users, analysts, developers and DBA's to verify the adequacy and correctness of the production process and control mechanisms, and to verify the correctness of the over-all function of the data warehouse. Detailed responsibilities include the following:



- Working iteratively with Developers to design appropriate control mechanisms for the identification, reporting and handling of exceptional data.

- Designing the QA and support approach that will be used for the data warehouse

- Collecting and documenting test requirements to ensure complete coverage of the business and technical function

- Advocating quality and control objectives with all stakeholders

- Planning, scheduling, coordinating and executing the QA effort between cycles and releases.

- Reviewing, reporting on and tracking the testing results

- Creating, automating and executing test cases

- Aiding in the research and resolution of open issues

- Coordinating the "certification" and sign-off of the data warehouse

- Monitoring and managing data quality in the production data warehouse on a daily basis



Required Skills:

- 5+ years of IT experience with an emphasis on the QA and operations side of data analysis / business intelligence / decision support systems

- Strong understanding of the controls required to support a high level of quality in a sustainable production environment

- Strong understanding of the testing necessary at various points in the data lifecycle to assure a successful data warehouse implementation

- Demonstrated success in the implementation and support of data warehouses with appropriate quality and control processes and mechanisms

- Experience with industry standard data warehouse profiling and quality tools

- Strong organization, interaction, and communication skills and ability to work with teammates and business users in multiple domestic locations

- Project management skills to create actionable and trackable task plans

- Ability to be on-call to support 24x7 environment and travel 25% of the time
