The Systems Analyst is expected to play a key role in the development, implementation, installation, and operation of information and functional systems for the organization. The duties of this position include analysis of all policy issuance and claims systems as well as technical support for the management team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

? Work with the Operation?s managers to document, identify, and determine business rules and project scope.

? Participate in the design and implementation of system interfaces based on requirements and best practices.

? Write requirements specifications according to standardized templates, using plain language in concise manner.

? Identify project stakeholders and user classes. Document user class characteristics. Identify appropriate representatives for each user class and negotiate their responsibilities.

? Evaluate System?s issues, document, identify cause, address user created issues, report system issues to ISD utilizing current reporting tools; provide training to users.

? Present requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.

? Ensure that requirements statements are complete, consistent, concise, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.

? Participate in reviews and inspections of requirements documents and work products derived from requirements specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly.

? Translate client requirements into specified project briefs.

? Develop specific proposals for enhancements to existing systems.

? Work closely with programmers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

? Timely completion of assignments; provide technical reports and analysis to the Operations Management team or as requested.

Qualifications:

? EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Computer Science/Information Systems; or one to two years? related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience, plus college level courses in data processing field.

? COMPUTER SKILLS: Proven mastery of relational databases, including PL/SQL queries is required. Working knowledge of concepts, principles, tools and techniques of system analysis is required. Proven mastery of PC skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access Database and Visio. Knowledge of programming, object-oriented analysis and design.

? PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Two years insurance experience preferred. Insurance experience (knowledge of underwriting and operations processes) is a plus.

? OUTSTANDING TIME MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS; must be able to swiftly/competently manage multiple tasks with ease and without compromise to quality of deliverables.

? MATH ABILITY: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

? REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
