Job Description
The company is looking for an entrepreneurial Director of Engineering to help us build next-generation search technology for a new Web and mobile local shopping experience. The company makes shopping malls "searchable" by pulling inventory from all the stores in a mall, then allowing shoppers to access from home (via the mall Web site) or while shopping (via mobile phone). We have recently begun a large nationwide expansion, leveraging our exclusive relationships with the world.s largest shopping mall operators. * Hire, manage, and motivate a team of A+ engineers to create fast and innovative solutions and deploy live end-user systems.
* Have a high standard for quality, and be accountable for managing all projects through the full software lifecycle â?? concept, prototype, build, test, deploy, and measure.
* Earn the trust of your team and the company by applying integrity, intelligence, verbal agility, domain knowledge, and planning skills to consistently deliver high quality solutions.
* Establish short- and long-term technical vision, project plans, and policies.
* Be an outward-facing evangelist for NearbyNow technology to customers, press, analysts, and investors.
* Develop relationships with our technology partners (such as Google, Yahoo, Ask, etc.) to design and develop ways to exchange traffic and data.
* Create budgets and resource allocation for the engineering teams that consistently produce on- time, high quality solutions.
* Collaborate with product management to refine and prioritize new requirements and features.
* Be an active member of the NearbyNow executive team by developing strategy, constructing goals, and attending Board meetings when necessary.
